China makes a home run with Saudi Arabia and Iran deal
No one has expected it but everyone needed it, well almost everyone...
A few hours ago news broke that China has managed to broker a deal between Saudi Arabia and Iran.
The two arch rivals will restore communication and reopen embassies and also will have “respect for the sovereignty of states” and will stick to “non-interference in internal affairs”.
If that isn’t a success than I don’t know what is.
This move brings some much needed stability to the region, but the key thing is that it was not brokered by the USA. The question that arises is what will Israel do? In recent years we have observed that Saudi Arabia and Israel are working more closely in the region which at that time was indicating a possible alliance against Iran, and here we are a few years later... Archenemies sitting at one table and agreeing to do their thing and not interfere, and all of this thanks to China.
The key question is what will Washington do and what will Tel Aviv do?
